Simple Starving Student Chili Recipe

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • white onion
  • 1/2 of a small green bell pepper
  • 15oz can of kidney beans
  • 2 x 15oz cans of black beans
  • 1 TBSP chili powder
  • 15oz can of diced tomatos (with green chili if available)
  • 1/2 can of beer
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. start browning the 1 lb of hamburger in a large stovetop pan
  2. while browning the hamburger, chop up the onion and bell pepper and add to the pan
  3. strain the beans with water then add to the pan
  4. add the chili powder (approx 1 tbsp, adjust to your taste)
  5. add about 1/2 can of beer (PBR, Coors)
  6. simmer for about 1 hour
  7. serve as-is or over chips to make chili nachos or over a hot dog to make a chili dog
TIPS

  • clean as you go
  • don't waste the other 1/2 can of beer!
